I am delighted to share this week’s Making Spaces conversation with Mike McHargue (a.k.a Science Mike.) Mike is one of my best friends, and I always walk away from our conversations feeling grateful for time spent in deep conversation punctuated by a lot of laughter, and this conversation is no different.

Mike is a public educator trusted by millions to use empathy and deep scientific insights to help us navigate some of the most difficult parts of the human experience. Through his podcast “Ask Science Mike”, his books, and all of his speaking engagements, Mike is constantly making space for others to engage and integrate all parts of ourselves - (even the parts that make us an ass.)

In this conversation we discuss his latest book, why we need to integrate our own cognitive and emotional side, why right and left brain definitions are actually false, and why science has the power to change the world, but only if it gets better branding. I hope you enjoy this conversation and are challenged to get curious about your own feelings!

For more from Mike check out on his podcast "Ask Science Mike"

Or grab one of his books “Finding God in the Waves,” and “You’re a Miracle (and a Pain in the Ass),

For our monthly “makers episode” I would love to hear what practical questions you have about physically making space for others. Please leave me a voice mail on the anchor app or drop me a line on instagram or facebook @ revsarahheath
